Carltonians Match Day Function Review v Adelaide – ROUND 15

The Carltonians hosted our “winter wonderland” game day function at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Our special guest was Ski Cross athlete & Winter Olympian Anton Grimus.

Thankyou to our match day presenting partner and Carlton Football Club official outiftter Daniel Hechter.

On field, after a slow start the Blues got the game back on our terms and we were once again competitive against a team that will be featuring prominently come finals time.

After hitting the lead mid-way through the final quarter there was the belief Carlton would pull of an almighty upset, though the Crows were too good in the end.

Matthew Kreuzer was again influential for Carlton and in his current form would be in strong consideration for a position in the All Australian team. Liam Jones continues his rich reign of form a key position defender, this time taking the scalp of Crows captain Taylor Walker.

Post-game Coach Brendon Bolton highlighted the areas we require improvement.

"They're not big things, they're an accumulation of little things: misconnection with the footy, maybe not taking ground under pressure when required, missed tackles," Bolton said.

"I think that's what it is in high performance, the accumulation of little things. Our players understand that, but you've sometimes got to live it to really appreciate it and we'll do that.

"We'll go and have a good look at it."

We now look forward to taking on the Demons next Sunday in a game where we will take genuine belief into.
