Carltonians Match Day Function v Gold Coast – ROUND 4

Carlton was defeated by the Gold Coast Suns by 20 points on Saturday night.

Early inaccuracy from the Blues in front of goal compounded with a Gold Coast seven goal to one third quarter which was the catalyst for their victory.

Coach Brendan Bolton lamented  a disappointing third quarter, yet found positives to take away from the game, particularly the glimpses of our future from some talented youngsters.

"There's lots of little signs but we won't shy away from that third quarter," he said.

"When you lose a game we won't absolve ourselves from trying to win, but there was some signs. The inside 50 differential was very similar and we had ample opportunities, particularly in the first half. But you can just see that when it clicks for some of these youngsters it's going to be good for us."

The Carltonians hosted our match day function where we were joined by our player’s partners as special guests for the evening.

MC Andy Maher hosted another entertaining Q&A with the ladies who gave the function an insight into our players off the field.

Injured Carlton players Ciaran Byrne & Jed Lamb were also guests updating the function on the progress of their injuries and when they expect to return to on field action.
