Carltonians Match Day Function Review v Hawthorn – ROUND 22

The Carltonians celebrated our last home game function of the season on Saturday evening with over 260 attendees enjoying the evening.

Channel Sevens Front Bar host Andy Maher was our MC for the evening and entertained the function with a humorous panel including diehard Hawks fans Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann and comedian Adam Rozenbachs.

Current injured Carlton star Ed Curnow and former champion Peter Bosustow joined the function for dinner.

It was a special evening for the Carlton Football Clus as we celebrated our 1987 Premiership triumph over the Hawks. 1987 Premiership players Tommy Alvin & David Glascott presented the 1987 Premiership Cup to the function and drew our major raffle prizes from the cup.

President Mark LoGuidice accepted the Carltonians contribution cheque to the Carlton Football Club for 2017 from Carltonians Chairman Chris Ott and spoke about the importance of the Carltonians to the club.

Carltonians Platinum Partner Virgin Australia gave away 2 EconomyX tickets to a lucky guest of our function. We thank Virgin Australia for their support throughout 2017 as our Platinum Partner and we are excited to have them on board again for season 2018!

On field Carlton rose to the occasion and honoured our 1987 team watching on to defeat the Hawks in a close encounter.

In encouraging signs for the future, young livewires Jarrod Pickett and Zac Fisher put together strong four quarter performances whilst Charlie Curnow again impressed looking strong in marking contests against older seasoned opponents.

We travel to Sydney for our last game of the season this Saturday where the playing group will be hungry to finish the season off with a strong performance.
